The same year, he made his acting debut in the series "Super Star Academy". His first stage performance was at the 2016 Zhejiang TV New Year Concert, where he performed the single "Freeze" as well as the theme song "Be A Man" alongside his teammates.
Xiao Zhan began his career in the entertainment industry in 2015 when he participated in the idol survival show "X-Fire" and debuted the following year as a member of the Chinese boy group X NINE. He worked as a photographer and graphic designer prior to his debut.
